What is your approach to workshop design? |
more |
LMD has a rigorous ten-step creative development process which assures quality design and delivery.
Our workshops are highly experiential and interactive, with plenty of opportunity for practice and time to explore individual needs. Action planning and participant toolkits support implementation.
Every project we undertake is tailored or bespoke to client requirements. Our team is hand-picked to bring precisely the right match of skills and experience needed for success. We quickly learn as much as we need about your organisation in order to build good working relationships with you and to inform design planning. Designs then take shape through outline, draft and pilot stages, with rigorous review points. close
What is your delivery style? |
more |
Regular clients say they enjoy the difference LMD brings, with our fresh, creative approach and positive, interactive delivery style. We are told we are highly motivational and inspiring, particularly when using powerful experiential learning processes.
We have a strong reputation as skilled and professional facilitators. We specialise in helping people reflect on and evaluate their own performance, drawing out useful conclusions and forward plans.
We work dynamically with individuals and groups, creating an atmosphere where everyone can have their say, feel valued and respected. We are expert in giving balanced, objective, appreciative and sensitive feedback. close
How do you ensure that participants engage in training? |
more |
LMD's learning designs are focussed, stretching and fun, high on experience - we have people 'on their feet and doing'. Delegates enjoy our work-focussed approach to case studies and exercises, and group participative methods. Where relevant we bring issues to life with realistic acted scenarios.
We listen closely to all participants about the challenges they face and make every opportunity to connect these challenges with the content of the programme.
Inevitably people disagree from time to time. We are skilled in creating environments where people feel comfortable to participate, challenge and openly discuss. We help groups hold meaningful discussions and see the value of differing points of view. close
What is your Unique Selling Point? |
more |
It's a unique combination of five key points. Clients choose to work with LMD because of our values-driven commitment to learning and development, our enviable network of top-quality team members, our robust 30-year track record of work with leading public and private sector organisations, our keen pricing, and the value we can add through our range of expertise and services.
As an independent consultancy, LMD is big enough to be chosen as a cross-government Learning & Development supplier (www.buyingsolutions.gov.uk) and small enough to be highly flexible in supplying just the right team at the right time to meet a particular need. close
What makes you different from your competitors? |
more |
We use our extensive learning design skills to enable clients understand the systemic causes of performance problems and successes. There is nothing pre-defined or off-the-shelf in LMD's approach; we focus on what will work at a particular time in a particular setting.
Our teams are bound by a commitment to shared values which are the root of our long term success. Partnership is in our company 'DNA'. We work with clients to co-create cost-effective solutions grounded in the realities of the workplace. close
What solutions do you offer for individual requirements? |
more |
LMD provides coaching at all levels of management, supported by the use of 360º and profiling tools such as MBTI.
Our trainers are also capable of flexibly delivering course content on an intensive 121 or small group basis. This is particularly helpful when training numbers are low, or when a course is not scheduled to run for many months.
Individual learning needs can also be met through action learning sets and the search for suitable online resources and online communities in which individuals can participate. close
What solutions do you offer for team development? |
more |
LMD can draw on a vast range of experience and tried-and-tested learning approaches to quickly design learning programmes for teams and groups of staff with the same learning needs, targeted on particular issues and needs. Our trainers are experienced enough to be able to flex programmes on the day, in response to specific group issues.
We encourage clients to consider blended solutions which make most effective use of time and resources and include an element of performance support for application of new learning on the job.
We also design teambuilding and group events to meet specific client requirements for improvement in team performance within the business. close
What processes do you have to ensure delivery in our timeframes? |
more |
LMD has formal documented systems for client management, project management and quality assurance. These processes are always undertaken by core staff to ensure continuity and cover.
Our use of a diverse pool of learning consultants means that we can assign people with precisely the right match of skills and experience needed for specific projects, at the time that clients need them. It ensures that we always have more skilled resource than we need, to cover absence, maternity, holidays, etc. We are always able to meet client requirements. close
How will you meet our requirement for knowledge/experience? |
more |
With a pool of over 40 highly experienced learning designers, trainers, coaches, facilitators and OD consultants, LMD is big enough to be able to meet all client requirements precisely while being small enough to care deeply about each project. Each team we field is hand-picked for the work and guaranteed to be available. We're a WYSIWIG company - who you see in bids and at presentations to your organisation is who you will get in our project team.
Because LMD's work is largely bespoke, team members are chosen for their ability to quickly grasp cultural and organisational issues. We only work with learning consultants who have 5-10 years' experience, and often more, because this allows our clients to draw on wide and deep expertise and our teams to respond effectively to all the variation that may occur in a group. close
How do you monitor performance of staff? |
more |
LMD first gained Investors in People (IiP) accreditation in 1999, and is still accredited. Our use of the IiP framework enables us to quality assure the company's most important resource - our people.
Trainers, coaches, learning designers, subject specialists and organisational development consultants are quality assured through established processes for:
- assessment of commitment to shared values
- assessment of prior experience, including client references
- observation and review of sample sessions and materials
- project contracting
- obtaining and using client feedback
- project reviews during and after contracts
- participation in shared learning and development
- annual review with the Learning Director

How do you provide Value for Money? |
more |
We are always conscious of the need to provide best value for our clients. LMD works in partnership with clients to build the most efficient and effective approach, making the most of the budget available.
We design solutions which make best possible use of internal resources - we never want to do for clients things which we can enable them to do for themselves.
We do not place IPR constraints on our clients. Copyright in materials generated for a project rests with the client. The materials we produce are either 'vanilla' or client-branded. Trainer notes and materials are designed so that programmes can be run both by us and by others in future. close
How much do you charge per training day? |
more |
This depends on the complexity of the training to design and deliver. LMD uses five fee-band rates which reflect the level of expertise that team members are bringing to ensure successful outcomes for individuals and organisations. By winning a position on the Government Procurement Service's Learning & Development and E-learning Framework, for Management & Leadership and for Specialist Services www.buyingsolutions.gov.uk, LMD has been told that we "have already demonstrated that our products and services are fit for purpose and offer value for money". close
