Applying and embedding new learning needs support in the workplace
It’s one thing to attend a workshop or complete an e-learning package, but we all know you don’t use everything you have learnt straight away or every day.
The longer the gap between training and use of what’s been learnt, the greater the chances of learning decay. Performance support helps to ensure high levels of engagement in change, and embed desired new behaviours.
In every programme we include these simple ways to support improved performance in the workplace:
- Learning logs and actions plans of how learning can be used, discussed with peers and/or line manager
- Projects and other workplace activities that must be undertaken before training is recognised as complete
- Take-away Guides providing practical hints and tips
- ‘Help at the end of an email’ for 3 months after training
- Online surveys to identify successes and difficulties
We also encourage clients to use value-for-money ways to support employees so that they start to use new learning. For example:
